In the Faculty of Arts' seven departments--Photography, Imaging Art, Design, Interactive Media, Animation, Games, and Manga-- students engage in the study of Media Art: art forms integrated with technology. We provide students with a learning environment of state-of-the-art facilities where instructors with cutting-edge expertise lead students.
Department of Photography
Studying cutting-edge photography techniques backed with our tradition of photography education
Four specialized fields are offered: Theory of Photographic Expression, Commercial, Documentary, and Art.
Department of Imaging Art
Raising a student to a top-notch imaging arts specialist with the three strengths of sensibility, technological technique and expertise
Along with the basic Imaging Art curriculum, five specialized fields are offered: Imaging Art Expression, Film, Television, Image Information, and Bodily Expression.
Department of Design
Cultivating designers with both deep specialization and broad perspective
Four specialized fields are offered: Graphic Design, Illustration, Image Information Design, and Spatial and Product Design.
Department of Interactive Media
Developing creators who can play active roles at the forefront of the interactive media industry
Our curriculum is designed to enhance specialty expertise in the fields of Information Technology, Arts, Design and Audio with a grounding in fundamental knowledge of information processing.
Department of Animation
Fostering young human resources to lead animation's next generation
Two specialized fields are offered : production, dealing with the creation of animation; and research, for academic pursuits concerning animation studies.
Department of Games
Cultivating creators pursuing inquiry into the essence of "playing"
In a state-of-the-art environment for experimenting, including a motion capture studio, three specialized fields are offered: Planning, Design and Programming.
Department of Manga
Cultivating students who can create manga culture in Japan
We aim to educate students who strive to acquire extensive, advanced expertise and knowledge and who can create new forms of culture with innovative values.
Division of Liberal Arts
The curriculum encompasses four divisions: Foundations of Art, Human Science, Communication, and Career Education. Each division offers a wide selection of courses.
